WHAT IS
CHIN FILLER?
Some people feel they have a disproportionately small chin in relation to the rest of the features of their face. Dermal fillers can be injected into the chin to lengthen it to achieve the perfect proportion.
DO I NEED CHIN FILLER?
The reasons for many people not having “ideal proportions” are usually related to either of the following:
Genetic : your underlying bone structure: This is the way your face has naturally formed, and may include a short chin, a recessive chin or both. This can often be a concern for the younger population, as it is structural.
Age related changes : Bone reabsorption, loss of the supporting fat pads, and hyperactivity of the chin muscle can all cause the chin to flatten and shorten.
HOW LONG DO THE CHIN FILLER LAST?
Our chin filler last up to 18 months, however it is advised to repeat treatment every 12 months to maximise the effect.
Although each person is different, some will find it doesn’t last the full 18 months.
This can be caused by smoking, fast metabolism, regular exercise or kissing. You can stop doing your lips any time and they will slowly return to normal. The skin will not “stretch out”
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
Generally, there is no downtime after a filler injection. While everyone is different, most return to their normal activities right away. There are very few reported side effects with dermal fillers, bruising being the most common as with any injections. This is commonly very minimal and can be covered effectively with make up.

A weak chin from side profile can result in certain features such as the nose looking oversized, and the side profile may look overall not balanced and thus not aesthetic. We can use filler to increase forward protrusion.

A chin area that is short relative to the rest of the face can make the forehead or nose look oversized. In respect to the aesthetic thirds, we can increase length of the chin. We can alter the shape of the chin and make it appear more feminine or more masculine.
This is done by respecting certain gender aesthetic ratios, and understanding the fundamental differences between the sexes.

I don’t know what treatment to book can you help me?
If you’re torn between treatments don’t worry – feel free to book either. It’s very common for people to change treatment during the consultation. We appreciate not everyone knows what they want and will work with our clients to understand their needs and expectations on the day!
Will it hurt?
A strong numbing cream will be used for 15 minutes prior to the procedure to help minimise any initial discomfort. The injection itself also contains lidocaine (numb) within the product to ease pain of injection. Here at BELUSH we use only the best products on the market and deal with nervous clients on a day to day basis, we will do everything we can to ensure you are as comfortable as possible.
Can I remove it?
In most cases filler can be dissolved and reversed by hyaluronidase. This is done via small injections to break the product down.
