WHAT IS
LIP FILLER?
Lip Filler also known as lip augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that can enhance your lips to give more volume and definition. It also makes your lips look younger by reducing the fine lines and giving you a fuller lips.
At Belush Beauty, the lip filler we use is HA filler, the most popular in Malaysia are Juvederm and Restylane, which come from hyaluronic acid.
WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE?
First we apply a strong numbing cream, The lip area is sensitive and we want you to feel comfortable throughout the procedure.
The fillers are then injected into the lips with various techniques and areas depending on the shape desired and it is then massaged to produced a smoother outcome.
Most client have minimal discomfort, on a scale of 1-10, they are a 2-3. This is less painful than laser hair-removal.
HOW LONG DO THE LIP FILLER LAST?
Our lip filler last up to 18 months, however it is advised to repeat treatment every 9 to 12 months to maximise the effect.
Although each person is different, some will find it doesn’t last the full 18 months.
This can be caused by smoking, fast metabolism, regular exercise or kissing. You can stop doing your lips any time and they will slowly return to normal. The skin will not “stretch out”
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
There will be some swelling which might last a couple of days. There might also be some bruising where the injection was given and it may be slightly painful or itchy. However, the discomfort should only last a few days.

HOW MANY ML
DO I NEED?
This is down to personal preference and lip size/amount of previous filler. However, if this is your first treatment we recommend 1 ml.
1ml
1ml – recommended if it is your first time- you may look a little swollen immediately after. Once this swelling goes down they will settle to be visibly more plumped and volumised. If you want more volume, you can add more filler after 4 to 8 weeks.
2ml
2ml – for a more glamorous appearance (will be done in 2 session). The best advice is to build your way up gradually, you can have 1ml filler added a few weeks after the initial injection.

Before the treatment
– Avoid drinking alcohol the day before the treatment
– avoid taking fish oil or blood thinners for example Ibuprofen, Aspirin 1 week before the treatment
– Make sure to let us know as soon as possible if you become sick prior to the treatment.
After the treatment
– Make sure not to touch your lips or put make up on for 6 hours
– Avoid heavy exercise for 48 hours
I don’t know what treatment to book can you help me?
If you’re torn between treatments don’t worry – feel free to book either. It’s very common for people to change treatment during the consultation. We appreciate not everyone knows what they want and will work with our clients to understand their needs and expectations on the day!
Will it hurt?
A strong numbing cream will be used for 15 minutes prior to the procedure to help minimise any initial discomfort. The injection itself also contains lidocaine (numb) within the product to ease pain of injection. Here at BELUSH we use only the best products on the market and deal with nervous clients on a day to day basis, we will do everything we can to ensure you are as comfortable as possible.
Can I remove it?
In most cases filler can be dissolved and reversed by hyaluronidase. This is done via small injections to break the product down.
